‘Messin With My Head’ blends in some soul grooves into the Southern-fried licks, with the rhythm section locking in tight, and tasty organ tones supporting vocalist Will’s alt-country swagger. Villani’s rapid-fire bursts in the third act of the song is a wicked flip not usual in this genre, and is reminiscent of late 90s mashups.
