Brisbane's With Blue reveal stunning indie-rock debut EP, 'Pleasure Lies'
Brisbane indie-rockers, With Blue have unveiled their four-track debt EP ,’Pleasure Lies’, encapsulating the sounds of SE Qld indie with tracks like, ‘Blame’ and ‘Lately.
Dishing out melodic, guitar-driven Pop straight from the Brisbane suburbs, With Blue are an emerging Indie-Rock quartet whose sound is vibrant and fresh. Their endearing sound is reminiscent of local, cult heroes The Go-Betweens, whilst evoking a taste of The Kooks’ Britpop revivalism.
‘Pleasure Lies’ delves deep to the core of Australian indie-rock/pop, keeping production fairly straight-forward, focusing on the layers of sparkling guitar, with the rhythm section given space to move freely to create a nice flow. Frontman Jarryd Pollock’s vocals strike up Australian indie nostalgia, particularly with EP opener, ‘Lately’.
The band was formed in 2018 by high school sweethearts Jarryd Pollock, Tom Fitzgerald (lead guitar), and Will Fenwick (bass) - with the arrival of Kaleah Scanlon (drums) completing the outfit in 2021. Following the release of their first single, ‘Daisy’ (2019), the band have been gracing the Brisbane circuit with their high-energy sets and have gathered a dedicated following.
‘Pleasure Lies’ is streaming now on all digital platforms.
