Brisbane alt-country act Good Will Remedy's catchy new single is 'Messin With My Head'
Brisbane’s Good Will Remedy have released their latest southern fried alt-country rock vibes with a bit of a twist – new single ‘Messin With My Head’ features a rap from guest artist Viiani, with the official music video is coming soon.
‘Messin With My Head’ blends in some soul grooves into the Southern-fried licks, with the rhythm section locking in tight, and tasty organ tones supporting vocalist Will’s alt-country swagger. Vilani’s rapid-fire bursts in the third act of the song is a wicked flip not usual in this genre, and is reminiscent of late 90s mashups.
Viliani is a Melbourne based Emcee/Producer with an emotional and eclectic sound inspired by a multitude of sounds and genres, her influences stemming from a diverse range of artists including MC Layla, Ed Scissor, Rhyme Asylum, Korn and Tool.
On the collaboration with Viliani, Good Will Remedy singer and songwriter Will says “well I am a fan of Villani’s music – I like her style and content and when we needed something for that section. I think Dave (guitarist) suggested a rap and I thought of Villani straight away…. I reached out and sent the track and within about a week I received 12-bars of rap that works perfectly…. Let’s be honest on paper it really shouldn’t work… but it does!”
‘Messin With My Head’ is the third single taken from the Good Will Remedy’s upcoming EP titled ‘Same Old More Crows’… Previous singles ‘Lightning Bolt’ and ‘Ghost Town’ both received national rotation on ABC Country radio and both broke into the top 50 on Countrytown radio airplay chart.
The track is about preparing yourself for a better day – hopefully better than yesterday – but when the new day quickly starts to resemble the day before you realise you should have stayed in bed!
‘Messin With My Head’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
