Brisbane's LOVELOVELOVE go deep with euphoric new single, 'holding on'

Brisbane indie-pop project LOVELOVELOVE follow up on their first single, ‘smalltowns’ with a emotive, deep cut in latest single, ‘holding on’, which is yet another taste of their debut EP due in mid-2022.

‘holding on’ is both wistful, yet full of hope thanks mainly to the use of the cushioning, warping sound of the mellotron (famously used in The Beatles’ ‘Strawberry Fields Forever). The pulsing dance beat echoes the fluffy tones of the mellotron, along with mixture of breathy and falsetto vocals.

Brisbane's Reckless Coast go full throttle and swagger with latest single, 'Do You Want Me?'

Brisbane three-piece Reckless Coast (formerly Rude Rum) go full throttle with their latest single, ‘Do You Want Me?’; a track that presents a modern euphoria that reminisces on Australian Rock nostalgia.

‘Do You Want Me?’ starts with a crash of the likes we haven’t heard since Stone Temple Pilots’ ‘Trippin’ On A Hole In A Paper Heart’; but don’t be fooled, this track isn’t veering off in to post-grunge alt rock world. Caboolture’s merry men of alt rock, Interism have offered up their latest EP, ‘3 Piece Feed’ - three killer tracks of tasty, fried Australian alternative grunge punk, ready for consumption.

Interism have been purveyors of nostalgic alternative rock, particularly that with a 90s Australian alt tone, for some time, and ‘3 Piece Feed’ is an extension of their previous offerings (the single, ‘Honestly’, and the full length album, ‘Avondale St’). There’s nothing over-cooked in this sonic meal, stripping it back to guitar(s), drums, bass and vocals. It’s pure volume, sweat and good ol’ mosh-ready grunge-y punk rock in the vein of Bodyjar, NOFX, and Gyroscope.
