Zac Gunthorpe celebrates a decade of releasing music with new single, 'Wonder and Why'
Celebrating 10 years as a recording artist, singer/songwriter Zac Gunthorpe is releasing new music, starting with the brand new single, ‘Wonder and Why’.
Teaming up wth Brisbane’s Mexico City, the two forces come together to deliver an ‘Australianesque’ feel, that seems to sway like a leaf on an autumn breeze on the new track.
‘Wonder and Why’ sees Americana blending with Australian folk, utilising dreaming pedal steel guitar gently, a steady rhythm section, and just the right amount of nostalgic crunch on the guitars. Zac is channelling some serious Paul Kelly vibes in to this track, which brings to mind a cool Autumn night, laying on the hood of a Kingswood, staring at the night sky, with ‘Wonder and Why’ as the soundtrack to laid-back stargazing.
Of the track, Zac says that lyrically, it speaks of connection and care.
“Care for land below, stars above, all woven together, with heart and with love. It’s a yearning for the fading light. May the slightest flicker always remain,” he says.
‘Wonder and Why’, the first of new tracks to come from Zac Gunthorpe, in celebration of a decade of releasing music, is streaming now.
