Brisbane-based math rock quartet Hanoi Traffic have released their debut EP kids with no style - a six-track EP that sees the band effortlessly blend indie rock, math rock, screamo and noise rock to form their unique sound. Influenced by the likes of Daughters, Duster and black midi, Hanoi Traffic are drawn to dense and unorthodox arrangements.

It’s all tied together by vocalist Madeleine Thompsons vocals, which could easily be crooning to the big hair, suit jacket and jeans nightclub types.

The fuzz-soaked guitars (and at points, the bass too) are thick from the get go, with plenty of wah guitar to float in and out of their sonic spectrum. The vocals are drenched in slap-back delay, as any good psych-rock vocals should be, and the drums have a vintage tone, but still enough depth to push through.
