Darcy Kate pairs up with Drew Wilson for another winning pop-country single, 'Hand in Hand'
Sunshine Coast’s songbird, Darcy Kate returns with another pairing with guitar-pop wizard Drew Wilson on the new single, ‘Hand in Hand’, which is out today.
Following in the footsteps of previous successful single, ‘Let It Out’ (released last year), Darcy continues the love story on this latest up-beat country-pop single.
Co-written by Darcy and Drew Wilson, ‘Hand in Hand’ was recorded and produced by Craig Ross (Roomuzik), the single sees Darcy balancing passion and sensitivity, and lyrically discussing taking those first courageous steps to commitment in a relationship.
The previous pairing of Darcy Kate and Drew Wilson resulted in the popular ‘Let It Out’, and ‘Hand in Hand’ continues that melding of Darcy’s alt country/folk approach, with Drew’s guitar-pop flair. ‘Hand in Hand’ is cute without the cheesiness, heartfelt and well-crafted, with hooks woven throughout.
Darcy’s emotive vocals continue the story of our couple, urging her partner to forge their own path, while making the statement that she’ll always be by their side. An instantly catchy drum beat, swelling synths, and electric guitar riffs make this one perfect for the road trip sing-along.
Darcy’s previous successes from her debut album, ‘Wanderer’ featured pop-folk ear-worm ‘Dorothy’ (which earned commercial radio play listing), and the QMA nominated (for Best Blues and Roots Song) ‘Blue Cascade’.
Darcy Kate will be supporting this single (and her next single) with a run of shows across Queensland and northern NSW leading into October. For more information, please visit www.darcykate.com
‘Hand in Hand’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
