Drew Wilson dives into rich, contemporary acoustic pop on heartfelt single, 'Now You're Gone'
Sunshine Coast singer/songwriter Drew Wilson continues with his string of singles, this time going heavy on the heartfelt mode with ‘Now You’re Gone’, which is out now.
Drew once again showcases his adeptness at crating a slick, catchy sound, that tugs on the heartstrings.
‘Now You’re Gone is an emotional retelling of the loss of someone close, weaving Drew’s descriptive and heartfelt lyrics with long-time collaborator Craig Ross’ cinematic and masterful folk-pop production. The track climaxes to an unforgettable and fragile realisation of loss, reminding us all to hold onto things near and dear.
Drew Wilson is having a stellar run of releases, exploring different sonic textures and collaborations outside of the guitar-pop that he has honed in on previously. ‘Now You’re Gone’ sees Drew dip into contemporary acoustic-pop, and adopting synth flourishes. ‘Now You’re Gone’ balances between melancholy and hope, like sun rays piercing the grey, utilising Drew’s finger-picked acoustic, and vocal delivery as the backbone, allowing synths to weave in and out, and minimalist percussive highlights. It’s Josh Pyke jamming with Owl City - all warm and sparkly.
This latest release sees Drew continue his run of success, with previous singles ‘What Would I Do’, ‘Take It Slow’ and ‘Missing You’ gaining radio play and rotation.
‘Now You’re Gone’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
