Buttermello offer up sunny indie rock on their latest single, 'Let Me Down Easy'

Sunshine Coast indie rock cruisers Buttermello deliver their second single of the year with ‘Let Me Down Easy’, filled to the brim with catchy, fresh melodies, and stokes the fire for the band’s next phase.

The band’s third collaboration with platinum-accredited producer and songwriter James Angus has led to another track that has Indie Rock written all over it. With the current state of the Australian music industry Buttermello isn’t afraid to continue their pursuit of capturing local hearts and international recognition.

On first listen, the dreamy lead guitar plays off like a sunnier, creamier version of the lick from The Strokes’ ‘Heart In A Cage’, but instead of inducing rock n roll anxiety, Buttermello float you away with cruisy, airy slow-pulse indie rock. ‘Let Me Down Easy’ seeps into your skin, absorbs into your blood stream, and propels you into a state of bouncy, indie rock shuffle. This track is that first sip of hot coffee on a cold, clear-sky winter morning - it peps you up and starts your day right.

The first half 2024 has been another year of growth and exponential attention with the opportunity to support leading national and international artists such as The Rubens, Sunroom, The Moving Stills, Death By Denim and Betty Taylor.

With such impressive support under their belts, Buttermello is fuelling a charge with their ‘best foot forward’ approach to this latest single. Triple J have resonated strongly with previous releases with glowing reviews and the band quietly confident that ‘Let Me Down Easy’ is only going to strengthen their case.

“The music world is in trying times at the moment but one thing that'll never die is actual music and Buttermello are gifting you with a song that will melodically make you sing, rhythmically make you dance and lyrically make you cry (specifically if you've had a recent heartbreak)”, chuckles lead singer and guitarist, Brandon Boss. “We really feel that this song is a culmination of our songwriting over the last few years and each of our releases have gotten stronger and stronger”.

With hints throughout the track of the band Hers, and in memory of their ability to create a vibrant guitar melody while connecting with the listener through a carefully crafted arrangement. Lyrically the song can tell a compelling story of a breakup while still maintaining its fast and capturing tempo.

Buttermello continues to stay incredibly down to earth while pursuing an indie rock sound that is unique to their own and ‘Let Me Down Easy’ is another stripe on their musical epaulette.

‘Let Me Down Easy’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
