The Blackwater Fever return with deep, dark alt/blue-rock ballad, 'The Hurt'

Brisbane’s The Blackwater Fever have pulled out another epic alt/blue-rock track out of their collective minds, producing the new single, ‘The Hurt’ which is out now.

Once again, utilising the eclectic tastes of the trio, the new track is a raw, bleeding-heart, modern blues ballad, adorned with lush strings and high fidelity production.

‘The Hurt’ is deep, dark, swampy blues rock that punches into your chest, wrenches your heart out, and takes great pleasure in stomping on it in front of you. The Blackwater Fever are masters at walking the fine line of whiskey-soaked heavy blues, and the macabre, with Shane Hicks’ husky howl and fuzzed-out blues guitar, along with steady, heavy rhythm section, backed by thick, melancholy strings to produce a haunting effect. ‘The Hurt’ cuts deep, but hurts so good.

It’s another teaser from the band, with the impassioned and electrifying single being the next instalment in the lead up to the The Blackwater Fever’s sixth studio album, ‘Temptator’, set for release in October.

The Blackwater Fever have also announced that they will be opening for Mongolian folk metal giants, The HU, on their national tour throughout August.

‘The Hurt’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
