Beddy Rays fire-up with intense, catchy debut full-length self-titled album, and national tour.

It’s been a long time coming, and with a swag of singles under their belt, Redland Bay heroes, Beddy Rays have finally released their debut full-length self-titled album.

Coinciding with the release, the boys are heading off on their biggest national tour to date throughout August and September.

Beddy Rays’ self-titled album IS the soundtrack to the penultimate ‘strayan house party; it’s just you and your closest mates, beers, a shitty glass table on the back patio (ready for the 3am deep discussion) and this album on repeat. After a week earning a crust, it’s tracks like ‘FOTU’, ‘On My Own’, the fiery ‘Sort It Out’, and the fan favourite ‘Sobercoaster’ that provide the needed buffer between reality and the next sesh.

The band doesn’t necessarily go full tilt with every track on the album though, with the more headbop-pace of ‘Handful’, and the acoustic-driven ‘Brin’s Song’ providing some reprieve, and while their Australian alt/surf rock/skate punk sound doesn’t break any new ground, the album does capture the energy, and honest mateship, of Beddy Rays.

It’s easy to see why the band has attracted so much buzz, and this debut full-length album could easily be a mainstay for Brisbane-based bands for some time.

Beddy Rays have this to say of the forthcoming album, “When we started a band many years ago as young whipper snappers in Reddy Bay all we wanted to do was play gigs, sink tins and chat to all the legends we’d meet along the way. Now we have our very own album firmly in our grip, and to say we’re excited is a major understatement. We decided to go with a self-titled album for our debut because we believe this album IS Beddy Rays through-and-through. It’s honest, raw and nothing other than what we’re all about… mateship, Reddy Bay, good times and beers, but also the importance of looking after yourself and checking in with ya mates. It's made up of our recent singles and a bunch of brand newies we’ve been cooking up for you legends. A nice mixed bag of lollies! We hope you love it as much as we do!”

Produced by Brock Weston (BUGS) and Beddy Rays, and recorded at Brock’s Place in Brisbane, Brock has managed to capture the intensity and the larrikinisms of the band to the tee, while artist Struthless was called up to provide the apt artwork for the album.

Renowned for their raucous and undeniably boisterous live show, Beddy’s will kick of their national album tour on Saturday 13 August on the Sunshine Coast and will travel to Perth, Adelaide, the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Canberra Hobart, Wollongong, Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne and Torquay.
