Trillions return with super-grunge new single, 'Blow Away'

Sunshine Coast alt-rock/grunge trio, Trillions up the ante on their previous single with release of the new track ‘Blow Away’. Soaked in overdriven, fuzzed-out guitar, and an absolutely pounding rhythm section, the new single takes inspiration from the likes of Nirvana and Muse to bring together a thundering, bouncy, distortion-drive sound.

Trillions don’t shy away from wearing their Nirvana and Muse influences on their collective sleeves, and ‘Blow Away’ has both of these in spades, while still bringing a tonne of the Trillions tone. Super-thick on the fuzz, guitar and bass locked in, while letting the drums go all Grohl-esque, ‘Blow Away’ does bring up the question of what if ‘Origin of Symmetry’-era Muse wrote the Nirvana classic, ‘On a Plain’? It’s fun, ridiculously brash heavy grunge with just a touch of 00’s prog interwoven for good measure.

Their previous single, ‘Sick’ quickly amassed nearly 10,000 streams in its short time out, and the band is set to outdo themselves with ‘Blow Away’.

To celebrate the release of ‘Blow Away’, Trillions will be headlining at Solbar (Maroochydore) on May 11th, with Pity Vincent and Eyesite for a free one.

‘Blow Away’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
