The Dreggs release latest single, 'Hold Me Closer' and announce UK/Euro tour
Sunshine Coast’s The Dreggs are going from strength to strength, and on the verge of a UK/Euro Tour, have announced a brand new single, with the charming indie-folk duo releasing ‘Hold Me Closer’
The new track, sonically warm with waves of oceanic-like soundscapes and flowing harmonies, is a preview of the next chapter from the pair.
‘Hold Me Closer’ is yet another extension of The Dreggs’ coastal folk stylings that have proven to be so popular. While it ups the tempo a little, it still stays true to a sound the duo have carved for themselves over the past 5 years. Millions of streams, and massive sold-out shows for the Sunshine Coast natives prove the formula for The Dreggs works, so why mess with it? ‘Hold Me Closer’ however, does demonstrate a more polished, less rustic version of their sound, layering up with pads, organ, a solid rhythm section, some smooth choral work, and some damn fine banjo plucking to boot. No doubt ‘Hold Me Closer’, with its sweetly romantic lyricism, and upbeat nature, will be another win for The Dreggs.
Emotive in their storytelling, the wholesome folksters stay true to their sentimental roots in “Hold Me Closer”. An ode to their loved ones, the uplifting track radiates joy and reminds us the importance of human connection. They reflect on the single, “It’s such an upbeat and energetic track of ours and a first look into new music we’ve been working on recently.”
“It’s all about holding the ones you love close.”
Hailing from the Sunshine Coast, The Dreggs (Paddy Macrae and Zane Harris) are inspired by their coastline upbringing and love for the big blue, with the pair continue to win the hearts of industry and fans alike with their infectious folk stylings.
With a string of sold out headline shows and festival slots under their belt including Splendour In The Grass, Out Of The Woods, FOTSUN and more, the home-grown duo are gearing up for a huge year, heading to the UK and Europe this October.
‘Hold Me Closer’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
