JC and The Tree release stunning, complex sophomore album, 'Changing Tides'
Sunshine Coast duo, JC and The Tree have returned with a complex, connection-building sophomore album in ‘Changing Tides’, which is out now.
Inspired by everything from the mountains to the sea, JC and The Tree truly captures one’s ears and heart with the brilliant soundscapes that elevate you into timeless visions of all things connected to nature, and the world beyond.
‘Changing Tides’ is beautifully textured, complex, and lush. Borderline orchestral in parts, the roots bed that the duo of Tree and JC have laid is built upon with gorgeous string sections to complement JC’s already stunning violin work, pianos, and larger-than-life rhythm sections. These aren’t simple folk/roots tracks; they’re complete movements, with JC and Tree trading vocal duties, balancing the feminine and the masculine neatly.
It’s the soaring violin by JC, and the warm rich tones of Tree that set the benchmark, one that transcends the ordinary music lover’s ear.
Transpiring into a new sound, this album boasts some true musical talent featuring guest musicians on a number of songs. The variety of styles and moods throughout is testament to their versatile musicality as each song flows into the next.
The album also has stunning artwork featuring the the Glasshouse Mountains skyline, which matches the music perfectly with depth and meaning.
To celebrate the release of ‘Changing Tides’ JC and The Tree hit the road for their official album launch tour playing a string of shows all the way up to Cairns, then back down to Brisbane and into NSW.
Motivated by their love of nature they have gone to great lengths to offer ethical and sustainable merchandise and will continue to offer native seeds with CD/vinyl purchases. The idea being to encourage people to grow their own plants and to nurture the little living creatures, such as bees, on our planet. Prizes will be awarded to fans who share pictures with the hashtag #jcandthetreefeedabee after successfully sprouting and keeping their plants alive.
‘Changing Tides’ is out now on all streaming platforms, or purchase the physical copies from JC and The Tree at their shows or via their website.
