Zac Gunthorpe celebrates the blooming times in latest single, '10 Days'
Following up on his earlier release this year, ‘Wonder and Why’, Zac Gunthorpe continues with his ‘Australianesque’ stylings with the latest offering, ’10 Days’, which is out now.
While ‘Wonder and Why’ explored night sky gazings, ’10 Days’ brings images of tranquility and feelings of contentment looking up in the day, bursting upon the ears like a blooming bud in springtime.
Once again teaming up with Brisbane’s Mexico City acting as Zac Gunthorpe’s backing band, it’s another single where Australian folk stylings meld with classic Americana.
Launching straight in to the track with harmonica and a playful blues/folk bounce, ’10 Days’ bursts with the energy of springtime blooms. Zac Gunthorpe weaves joyful lyrical magic, with Mexico City bubbling underneath with such organic energy, the drums left to drive but not be forceful, the bass ducking in and out with a wandering line, and the pedal steel guitar floating on top like sun rays peering over clouds. It’s lighthearted, good-natured musical storytelling that delivers the warm and fuzzies.
Zac Gunthorpe continues to celebrate a decade of releasing music with ’10 Days’, with more to come.
’10 Days’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
