Gold Coast’s HaydenGoSeek (aka Hayden Andrews from Cheap Fakes) returns with another off-the-planet, fantastically catchy new single in ‘The World’s Gone Mad’; a song that that perfectly articulates what the majority of us are probably thinking right about now.

Dripped out in dub tricks, ‘The World’s Gone Mad’ utilises Hayden’s built-for-roots smooth vocals to its peak, with a woody, rounded bass line that pumps and weaves through the track. The blend of blips and bloops, with drums giving off a sampled vibe, and the radio mic vocal effect blends roots dub with psych pop, to the point where it sounds like Salmonella Dub, The Beatles, and Sublime meeting at one glorious juncture. It’s silky smooth with a ridiculous groove.

Hayden has an uncanny ability to pump out tune after tune with so much pop-hit potential, being heavily inspired by the greats like Elvis, Free, and Fleetwood Mac, all stirring up his creative juices.

The World’s Gone Mad is a true story. From people fighting over toilet paper, to riots in the streets, the Government banning dancing, people losing their jobs over mandates, frequent lockdowns and the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, there is no shortage of material to draw from.

Ironically, Hayden wrote the song approximately 3 weeks before the pandemic caused the world to spiral into chaos, displaying a prophetic insight into what was to come.

Hayden wrote all the parts and played all the instruments on the track with the exception of bass, which was heroically handled by a man known only as ‘Bos the legend’.

Scott French from Lovestreet Studios amplified the power of the final product by casting his magical production wand over the song’s raw potential.
