PREMIERE - Warwick Smith brings life back to to the poppier side of emo punk on latest single, 'Dreaming Consequences'
Newcastle-based pop-punker Warwick Smith is dropping his latest single (and accompanying music video), ‘Dreaming Consequences’, which we here at The Point Music News, get to premiere ahead of it’s March 7 release.
The single is the first offering from his upcoming EP called ‘Beyond The Sea’, which comes out April 4.
Proving himself to be on a mission to revive the Emo culture for the youth of Australia with his dynamic blend of Pop Punk, Rock, and Alt Pop, Warwick Smith’s style is rooted in emotional exploration - his music leaving an indelible mark on the Alternative music scene and beyond, and promising to be the voice of a new era of emotional expression.
Warwick Smith isn’t here to play it safe. ‘Dreaming Consequences’ is a neon-lit fever dream of pop-punk theatrics, heart-on-sleeve emo, and enough swing to keep the alt-pop kids nodding. Think early Panic! At The Disco, but with less vaudeville and more existential dread. A rollicking bassline and crisp synth flourishes drive the track as Smith unpacks the overcooked anxieties that hijack our brains—those worst-case scenarios we magnify until they consume us. It’s the sonic equivalent of spiralling at 3 a.m., except this time, there’s a beat you can dance to.
Warwick debuted in 2022 and has since kept up a prolific rate of release. 2023 saw the release of his album called ‘Velvet’, which debuted at #5 on iTunes Alternative charts. Since his debut, the young songsmith has gained millions of streams on Spotify and has appeared on stage alongside the likes of Glass Animals and Waterparks.
2024 saw the release of his single ‘Semi-Aquatic’, which received airplay on ‘Short. Fast. Loud’ via Triple J.
New single ‘Dreaming Consequences’ is available on all major online stores and streaming services from March 7th.
