The Drop Beers tell tales of a wild night on fast and furious debut single, 'Droppin Beers'
Coming at you hard and fast is the debut single from Sunshine Coast punk heads, The Drop Beers in ‘Droppin Beers’. The first hops-fuelled track from the 5-piece depicts a blurry, intense and wicked night on the piss.
The Drop Beers are an amalgamation of talented blokes from ChamberLane, Trillions, City Council, Treehouse and Catching Salmon, pooling together their love of Australian punk, with influences from Frenzal Rhomb, Amyl and the Sniffers, and The Chats all bubbling through the blistering, rough riffage and beats.
‘Droppin Beers’ is piercing, cheeky AF punk that blows the froth off your cold ones before it reaches your lips. The Drop Beers have managed to sonically capture a massive night on the turps in time lapse, with the teasing guitar intro being the first few sips, before the night turns into full throttle debauchery. ‘Droppin Beers’ wears its Frenzy Rhomb, Amyl and Clowns influences like a well-worn, beer-and-blood stained footy jersey, which, like the track itself, leaves you with the dilemma; do you dare ask the story behind it, or just appreciate it for the rough as guts piece of art it is?
If ‘Droppin Beers’ has whet your appetite for frothed-up punk from The Drop Beers, then you’ll have to bear witness at their single launch at Solbar (Maroochydore) on Friday the 17th of May, with Sunshine Coast’s nu-grunge lot Staremaster, and alt-rock trio The Phosphenes joining.
Get ‘Droppin Beers’ up ya, with the track now streaming on all digital platforms.
