Byron's Drop Legs bring more pub dub in latest single, 'East Coast Nasty' - celebrate with 6-date tour
Byron Bay’s Drop Legs are back at it with a new single in ‘East Coast Nasty’, and are hitting the Pacific Highway this summer to play 6 shows in support of the release. From Sunshine Coast’s Solbar, all the way down to Ulladulla, the band have been in the studio cooking up more ‘pub dub’ for the hotter months.
“East Coast Nasty” was written in the rusting solar powered shipping container at frontman Hams house, with the 5 members jamming on the groove for about 30 minutes straight before deciding it NEEDED to be the next song released. The track features a “nasty” Hip Hop style bassline with a signature fat kick and snare decorated by dubbed out horns, flute and synths.
Drop Legs effortlessly fuse hazy dub roots with a laid-back hip-hop pulse in their latest single, ‘East Coast Nasty’. There’s a vintage warmth to it, with vinyl dust crackles drifting through sun-drenched speakers. The groove is fluid, the horns punchy, and the verses ride a wave of freestyle rhymes and melodies that play off each other perfectly. It’s Byron Bay beach reggae with a slacker twist—purely for the good times, with a hint of Baja breeze.
Now the band are super excited to hit the road and reconnect with fans, bringing the pub dub vibes to their favourite Coastal haunts.
Presented by Spangled Drongo Brewing, the tour kicks off at the Sol Bar on the Sunshine Coast where Droppies will be joined by Kurilpa Reach and The Yeah Nahs. Throughout the rest of the tour Drop Legs will be jamming out with The 420 Sound, Sleeping, Too Slow Joe, Mac Tango, Sundarks and more!
