The Pointies announced - our top 50 tracks of 2023
2023 was a huge year for Australian music, particularly for independent artists. The Pointies, now in its second year, is put together to celebrate and acknowledge our homegrown artists (and Australian artists making a name for themselves overseas).
Once again, we collated a mass of our favourite tracks (487 in total) sent through to us over the past year, listened long and hard, and culled down to make our Top 50 tracks of 2023.
This was no easy fete, and tracks were chosen on artistic merit, how well they represented their genre, as well as their own flair and spin, and how well the tracks were received through our channels.
Brisbane duo, JUNO, take out The Pointies 2023 top spot.
We do have to say a massive thank you to the PR teams, the labels, and the purely independent artists that sent through their releases throughout the year.
The Pointies 2023 Top 50 was full of surprises, with Brisbane duo, JUNO taking out the top honours, followed by De Saint (marking her 2nd year in a row at #2), and young Brisbane artist (and one to watch in 2024) Felony. taking out the third spot.
