Brisbane’s WALTA follows up the success of her 2022 release, ‘SUCKER’ with her latest single, ‘My Own Voice’ - an ode to self-discovery and reclaiming the power within yourself.

Previous single, ‘SUCKER’ gained the attention of triple J presenters and Apple Music playlist support, being described as ‘uniquely relatable angry pop that doesn’t miss the target’.

‘My Own Voice’ strays away from the angry pop, and sees the 20-something year old continue to create a world of her own, changing pace, letting her guard down and falling into a discovery of self-love.

Continuing to create a world of her own, the 20 something year old is giving us the powerful follow up single ‘My Own Voice’ where she is changing pace, letting her guard down and falling into a discovery of self love.

WALTA has managed to harness gorgeous organic tones, and raw background noise to give an authentic, almost lounge feel to ‘My Own Voice’. The vocals aren’t over processed, and is a refreshing change to hear a product that gives the feeling as though it has captured magic in one live take. The instrumentals almost have a cushioned approach, allowing all the nuances of WALTA’s vocal delivery to really sink in.

Of the track, WALTA (aka Chloe Minogue) explains the development of a defiant, strong character as the focal point.

“I began writing this song with the idea of creating a character, one that’s tough and takes no shit. Being a female in an industry full of men can sometimes feel isolating, and the need to portray myself in this way to be taken seriously is far too familiar.

As I continued writing this track, I began to peel back layers, unveiling all my fears and insecurities and re connecting with myself. It was the reminder i needed to trust in my own vision, back myself and that its okay to show my vulnerable side sometimes.” - WALTA

To accompany the new single, a music video (directed by Cat Sorenson) has been released for ‘My Own Voice’, and the song is also just a taste of a debut EP to come out mid-year.

You’ll also be able to catch WALTA at this year’s Mountain Goat Valley Crawl on February 11th in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley.

‘My Own Voice’ is available everywhere now.
