BRAND NEW - Brisbane's TOAK reveal heavy grunge-fuelled debut, 'Plastic'

Brisbane’s new grunge kids on the block, TOAK, have come racing out of the Bris underground with their debut single, ‘Plastic’ which is out now.

The track was completely performed, produced, mixed and mastered by the band, with the band believing it is a strong introduction to what TOAK is all about; melancholic, organic grunge music, that blurs the line between the 90s Seattle sound and modern rock.

‘Plastic’ is a meaty chunk of heavy 90s nostalgia, channelling the likes of early Alice In Chains, Screaming Trees, and Nirvana, bathed in slackerisms and fuzz. There’s a touch of Australian Pub Rock underlying the heavy grunge tones, whether the band realise it or not, but that middle section, which dials it all back, reeks of classic Angels riffs. TOAK have made ‘Plastic’ a transparently mosh-ready banger.

Still in their embryonic stage of the band’s evolution, TOAK have spent numerous months together refining performances, tirelessly gigging, and writing material that they are beyond excited to bring to life.

To celebrate, TOAK are hosting a single launch show at King Lear’s Throne (Brisbane) on August 12th, with friends Unentitled, BRAT, and Mt Nadir.
