Brisbane's Reckless Coast fire up the rumour mill with epic new track, 'Gossip'

Brisbane’s purveyors of pure rock n roll heat, Reckless Coast welcome in their 2023 with a fierce new single in ‘Gossip’ - an adrenaline-filled rocker’s dream, which centres around a swaggering riff and a stadium-worthy chorus.

The new track is driven by an energy reminiscent of 70s and 80s speed rock, but with contemporary interest from its melodic hooks and Reckless Coast’s signature ‘Rock Groove’ personality. The track is a direct calling for fans of rock resurgence acts such as Maneskin, and Amyl & The Sniffers.

‘Gossip’ is crammed full of thick, razored bass, no-holds barred drums, and a super-thick, fuzzy soup of guitars, all combined into a massive wall of 70s rock that there’s no escaping from; even the ‘calmer’ points of this track, are firing at 110%. Reckless Coast are known for bringing that absolute swagger in Australian Rock, and ‘Gossip’ has that in spades, albeit turbo-charged.

'Gossip' follows on from a successful release of singles such as 'TALK' and 'Do You Want Me?', seen featured on Apple's 'The New Rock' playlist, Samsung's 'Performance Enhancing Music' (Spotify), as well as further playlisting by The Au Review and Domestic La La alongside artists such as WAAX and Bad//Dreems.

"Gossip was written to cause pure chaos live" says songwriter/frontman Jaeden Ogston. "I wanted an anarchic energy to the song, and I think we definitely delivered on that!". "I can’t get enough of playing this song live" adds bassist India Raine "our energy goes full throttle and I love seeing the crowd’s un-contained response.”

Reckless Coast were recently invited by The Harbour Agency to support Australian legends The Poor, who have opened for acts such as Van Halen, KISS and AC/DC. From touring the East Coast circuit extensively in 2022, Reckless Coast are breaking into the scene the old school way. By doing so, they have honed their art-form purely in live environments, and have developed one of the most organically energised performances in the scene.

Now part of the Reyco Records roster, Reckless Coast will commence the 'Gossip' tour this March, covering a total of 6 shows along the East Coast of Australia.

‘Gossip’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
