Sydney's Anna Dine tackles negativity online with second single, 'anymore'
Sydney indie pop artist, Anna Dine returns with her sophomore release, ‘anymore’ - a delicious ode to the block button, and a stab at those who hide behind keyboards to say the negative stuff.
The new single is an infectiously catchy, defiant, and upbeat indie pop track about finally putting your inner peace first instead of worrying about looking oversensitive; it’s the liberation of setting boundaries and creating space between yourself and the people who inhibit you.
From the outset, ‘anymore’ latches onto a distorted bass groove and refuses to let go. Anna Dine delivers her vocal with deceptive sweetness, but there’s a serrated edge running through it that cuts straight through the track’s fuzzed-out snarl. It’s playful on the surface, but underneath is a cathartic eye-roll at the particular brand of negativity that festers online — the kind you can only really deal with by turning it into a hook.
‘anymore’ serendipitously emerged from an originally planned multi-artist collaboration session which quickly transformed into a solo track when no other artists showed up. As a result, the track blossomed into a one-day songwriting challenge involving Anna Dine and Alex Berger, renowned Australian producer, drummer of GRXCE, and guitarist in binsad.
Anna Dine belongs to a world of glitter, friendship bracelets and rainbows. The Sydney indie pop songstress presents a unique style of production and songwriting that is starkly honest, yet showered in sparkling synths, lush harmonies and alt-rock guitars inspired by Clairo, Benee and Last Dinosaurs.
Anna Dine burst into the Sydney scene in 2025 by winning the prestigious Sonora Song Competition hosted by renowned Australian Producer Jack Nigro, which sponsored her debut single ‘kind 2 me.’ The track debuted on Triple J Unearthed TOPS and was subsequently played on Home and Hosed and Late Nights, championed by Triple J Music Director Claire Mooney as “dreamy pop magic.”
Anna celebrated ‘kind 2 me’ with a debut headline launch show in Chippendale which sold out on presale, and in late 2025, Anna was announced a winner of the 2025 Campus Music Competition. Anna is also vocal about creating equitable spaces for women in music, having completed a thesis on gender dynamics in the Sydney scene and interviewed live on 2SER to promote the femme charity gig series ‘Loud Women’ in which she performed as a featured artist throughout 2025.
Anna Dine will celebrate ‘anymore’ on her debut tour co-headlined with Cate Gurguis, spanning Canberra, Wollongong, Central Coast, Brookvale, Newcastle and finally her first ever all ages show in Sydney at the UTS Loft March 28 to accommodate her growing young fanbase.
‘anymore’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
