Joe Mungovan Delivers an Indie Rock Eye-Roll with ‘Know It All’
Multi-instrumentalist Joe Mungovan brings forth his latest single dedicated to that guy in his latest single, ‘Know it All’ - a song about the type of bloke that you may have worked with, regrettably sat next to at a family barbecue, or even had a pinned photo of him on your dartboard.
The new single take cues from The Strokes, and Phoenix, while intersecting with the modern pop sensibility of Balu Brigade, and Teenage Dads.
“This song is for anyone who has ever had to deal with a Know It All… fuck, maybe I’ve even been that guy.” - Joe Mungovan
‘Know It All’ sparkles with indie rock charm and a healthy dose of sass. Joe Mungovan channels the breezy swagger of Phoenix, blending fuzzy guitars, angular riffs and a strutting rhythm section into a groove that’s impossible not to move to. It’s a hip-swinging jab at that one guy — you know the one — who never stops talking like he’s got all the answers. The bass pops, the guitars bounce off each other like rubber balls in a tiled room, and Joe’s vocal delivery is effortless yet sharp. Crank this one loud and let it do the talking.
Joe has had a big 12 months, with his grass-roots festival video for Cowchella going viral, over 300K streams, an APRA PDA Nomination, two Australian headline tours (with Aodhan), and supports for Ben Lee, Alex Lloyd, and Pete Murray.
To celebrate the release of ‘Know It All’, Joe will be hitting the road, featuring on a run of shows supporting The Vanns with a few extra dates.
‘Know It All’ is out now via all streaming platforms.
