Beloved Oz punks, FANGZ say goodbye with one last single, 'VOID', and run of shows

One of Australia’s beloved and unhinged punk outfits, FANGZ are calling it a day after seven ridiculous years. Alongside the news is their final ever run of shows and a brand-spankin’ new track, ‘VOID’ – produced by Daniel Antix (Stand Atlantic, RedHook, Pist Idiots) and mixed by Tim Maxwell (TOWNS, LOSER).
'VOID' is a fitting farewell, full of frenetic fretwork, driving drums, and raw, angst-fuelled vocals. Fast-paced and ferocious, the track boasts every FANGZ hallmark - an explosive intro, thrash-laden verses, a soaring melodic chorus, and a jolt of the unpredictable.
"'VOID' explores the lies we tell ourselves to avoid confronting uncomfortable truths. It's about creating your own version of reality, convincing yourself you're doing the right thing while ignoring the impact your actions have on those around you," says bassist Jameel Majam.
"At its core, the song explores the disconnect between words and actions, and the difficulty of admitting when something you once cared deeply about no longer feels the same. As we prepare to enter an indefinite hiatus, the song takes on a fitting new meaning, reflecting themes of honesty, self-awareness and knowing when it's time to move on," he continues.
Absolutely relentless, yet loaded with a tonne of groove, ‘VOID’ is FANGZ in all their gloriously unhinged glory. Vocals teeter between tearing and melodic, a wall of layered, razored guitars cuts through the mix, and a pummelling rhythm section leaves precious little room for a breather. The Adidas sweatsuits get a full workout here, soaked in every bodily fluid imaginable. It’s a fitting final blast from one of Australia’s best punk outfits, and while it’s a bloody shame to see them calling it a day, they’re going out swinging. If this is your first taste of FANGZ, you’ve got one last chance to experience that chaos live on their farewell tour. Be sure you do.
Since their 2019 inception, the band has released three EPs, an album and a slew of singles, receiving strong support from triple j, triple j Unearthed, Triple M, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Metal Hammer (UK), Loudwire (USA), Classic Rock (UK), Metal Injection (USA), Louder Sound (UK), NME, Rolling Stone Magazine, The Guardian, and many more.
Their debut album 'Shui' released in 2025 earned an ARIA Australian Album #1 and ARIA Album #8 charting debut.
They've traversed the country multiple times, selling out headline shows, performing at festivals and sharing stages with the likes of FIDLAR (USA), Pennywise (USA), The Bronx (USA), Cancer Bats (CAN), Comeback Kid (CAN), and He Is Legend (USA).
FANGZ also completed an East Coast tour in 24 hours, launched their own hot sauce (Fang Us Some Sauce), and ran their own curated East Coast mini-festival FANGZstock. Cottreau also holds the Guinness World Record for the most hard-boiled eggs eaten in one sitting (143 eggs in three minutes and ten seconds).
