Heavy alt/emo rock queens, The Beautiful Monument make a strong return with a searing and deeply personal new single, ‘Dancing with the Buried’, which is out now via Greyscale Records.

‘Dancing with the Buried’ sees the band tackle the harsh reality of domestic abuse and the emotional aftermath for victims who aren’t believed.

"This track hits very close to home," says vocalist Lizi McIntosh. "It's about victims not being believed about their abuse because of the stigma that surrounds domestic violence as a whole. The video represents that abuse comes in all forms, shapes and sizes; even if it’s not what's stereotypically perceived by societal norms."

Musically, the band are pushing their sound forward, experimenting with layered electronics and textured production to create a fully immersive listening experience, while still maintaining the heavy backbone that fans know and love. Produced by Chris Lalic (Windwaker, RinRin, Headwreck), the single combines wandering riffs, soaring vocals, and atmospheric flourishes that culminate in one of the band's most exciting tracks yet.

Brooding and crushing yet anchored by a slick alt-metal groove, ‘Dancing with the Buried’ marks The Beautiful Monument’s return with a potent fusion of metal, electronica, and pop sensibility. It’s a fearless approach — tackling the confronting and all-too-common issue of domestic violence through thickened riffs, pummelling drums, and a visceral vocal performance that bleeds honesty and anger in equal measure.

For the past decade, Australia has been (not so) quietly building a powerhouse scene of female-fronted heavy acts — think RedHook, The Last Martyr, Reliqa, Yours Truly — and The Beautiful Monument sit proudly among them. With ‘Dancing with the Buried’, we’re watching a band levelling up in real time.

The Beautiful Monument have spent the last twelve months writing, recording and perfecting some of their favourite tracks to date, taking the opportunity to reconnect with the love they have for the band and each other as friends. The band tease at a long-awaited larger release with "Dancing with the Buried": "We’ve taken our time to ensure the next era of The Beautiful Monument is our best yet; not only for our fans, but for us as musicians - We can’t wait to show the world what we have been cooking up, and we look forward to the thrillride to come!"

Honing their craft with honest lyricism and emotive delivery, The Beautiful Monument have paved a reputation for crafting anthems for anyone who has ever felt beautifully broken. The quartet - Lizi McIntosh [vocals], Amy McIntosh [bass], Alex Manhire [guitar] and Adam Pinzone [drums] - shine in a live environment, connecting with fans and winning over strangers with their sonic cocktail of pop-rock, alt, and metalcore with a twist of emotion. Diving deep into life's messy bits - mental health, love gone wrong, and all the feels - their live shows are like a cathartic group hug, but much louder.

The band made waves when they played main support for legendary gothic rockers Evanescence (US), taking centre stage in arenas across the country. In addition, they've toured Australia and played alongside the likes of alternative heavyweights Escape The Fate (US), Sleeping With Sirens (US), Short Stack, RedHook and more as well as making coveted appearances at Good Things Festival, Download Festival, Unify Gathering, Unify Off The Record and CVLTFEST among others. They'll play Destroy All Lines HELLBOUND CRUISE in October 2026 with Parkway Drive, Polaris, Northlane and more.

‘Dancing with the Buried’ is out now and streaming everywhere via Greyscale Records.
