Melbourne's Annabelle Grace merges nostalgic balladry and indie-pop on latest emotional single, 'Throne'
Melbourne-based artist, Annabelle Grace returns with soaring, emotional new indie-pop ballad, ‘Throne’, which follows on from her break-through debut single, ‘Porcelain Face’, which dropped mid-year.
The new single, loaded with late night hues, is dreamy, layered indie-pop, steeped in cinematic piano and emotive storytelling, becomes the soundtrack to post-breakup times, with Annabelle describing it as capturing that empowering, ‘ugh, I’ve been used but I’m rising above it’ moment.
Annabelle Grace doubles down on her signature sound with ‘Throne’ — lush indie-pop bathed in warmth and melody. The mix of neon-lit synth flourishes and earthy piano gives the track both glow and gravity, while Annabelle’s vocals thread nostalgia through a modern pop lens. It’s the kind of song that pulls you under without even trying.
‘Throne’ was written while reflecting on the human tendency to return to things we know aren’t good for us; a reflective musical portrait to the lessons we should learn, but sometimes we can’t move past.
Drawing inspiration from icons like The Beatles, Neil Young, and Mazzy Star, alongside contemporary artists such as Lizzy McAlpine and Gracie Abrams, Annabelle crafts songs that feel timeless yet deeply personal, making waves with her nostalgic-yet-modern blend of indie-pop and folk rock. Her debut single ‘Porcelain Face’ quickly gained traction, receiving numerous radio spins both nationally and internationally, and introducing audiences to her soulful voice and raw, poetic lyricism.
Annabelle’s latest single, ‘Throne’ is out now on all streaming platforms, but also keep your ears and eyes peeled for her third single, ‘Fingers Crossed’, due for release in December.
