Newcastle's Grub return with emotionally-charged explosive alt rock single, 'Mights & Maybes'

Newcastle’s Grub return with another blast of emo-charged alt rock with the explosive new single, ‘Mights & Maybes’, which is out now.

The release of the new tracks ties in with the announcement of their highly-anticipated EP, ‘Pulling Teeth’, which is set for release at the end of this month.

Speaking of the meaning behind ‘Mights & Maybes’, the band shares that the song tackles the feeling of a lack of achievement, and staying in your own comfort zone, instead of taking on your own goals.

“It’s also the potential feeling of regret as you look back through your life as it’s finished and the speculation of how you’re remembered by the people around you as they grow old. It’s something we felt was quite a common feeling amongst most people and it’s something that hits home for us.” - Grub

In ‘Mights & Maybes’, Grub deliver an emotionally-charged alt rock track, which pulls you upwards, downwards and any which way with the contrasting fast chugs, open chords, and bittersweet melodies that offer some breathing space. The track brings to mind the complex emo stylings of Sparta, and the mid-00s alt punk might of Gyroscope. It’s a rollercoaster ride full of crunchy tones, slamming drums and raw, honest vocals.

Grub recently dropped their new single and music video ‘Pulling Teeth’, which was premiered via The Point Music News. The single, which is the title track form their upcoming EP, has received airplay on over 100 radio stations worldwide.

New single ‘Mights & Maybes’ is available on all streaming platforms.
