Sophian shine on passionate indie rock single, 'Wait For You'

Boorloo/Perth-based indie-rocker, Sophian share their third single for 2024 in the expansive new track, ‘Wait For You’, which is out now.

The second release from their upcoming debut EP, ‘Somewhere In Between’, it was produced by Dave Parkin at Blackbird Studios (Spacey Jane, Sly Withers, Old Mervs).

This new single vividly captures unwavering love as swelling and receding guitars echo through heartfelt lyrics. The rhythm section creates a driving yet unhurried pulse, as  Sophian Manik's warm vocals deliver an anthemic release.

‘Wait For You’ is a slinky, loved-up indie groove; tremolo’d guitars wash over a sly bouncing bass line and slick drums, all the while vocalist Sophian serenades in a carefree fashion. Stylistically, it’s beautifully simple, and floats along to its own adorable, infectious heartbeat. Simply put, ’Wait For You’ is love-soaked indie rock, served either amorously or purely platonic.

Sophian Manik talks about the inspiration behind 'Wait For You':

"'Wait For You' is a deeply personal declaration of love and commitment. Written for my wife, it reassures her that I will always be there, cherishing every version of her as we grow together. The song is a testament to enduring love and patience, emphasising that true love remains steadfast through all of life's changes and challenges. It's also a song that can be dedicated to anyone or anything you love, not only to a partner. This can be to your mum, a sibling or even your best bud."

In the live arena, the band have previously shared the stage with acts such as COTERIE, Bootleg Rascal, Danté Knows, Chandler Jewels, South Summit, DICE, Mitch Santiago and King Ibis. They have also sold out their last three hometown shows and embarked on a national tour across Australia.

Previous singles have seen support from triple j, triple j Unearthed, 2SER, PBS FM, SYN Media, 4ZZZ, RTR FM and Gove FM. They have also seen support from various music blogs. Recently their single 'Beautiful Day' won the WAMAward for 'Song of the Year' in their Pop Category.

Keep an eye out for Sophian’s upcoming debut EP, but in the meantime, take in ‘Wait For You’ which is streaming on all platforms now.
