Dé Saint brings sinister bass to funky tech house cut, 'Girl DJ' - appearing at Caloundra Music Festival
Producer and in-demand electro artist, Dé Saint returns with a late-night club-ready banger in the intensely rollicking, funky cut, ‘Girl DJ’.
‘Girl DJ’ is the first release under Dé Saint’s recent signing with legendary dance music label Vicious Recordings, and follows the success of previous releases ‘Fever’, and ‘Zephyr’, with ‘Girl DJ’ rocketing up the ARIA club charts just days within release.
‘Girl DJ’ lures you in with a sinister, slinky synth bass line that penetrates inside your skull, rubbery and bouncing from ear to ear, while its bigger brother sub bass kicks down the door and punches you in the gut. It’s a deviously funky tech house track that Dé Saint has electrified to life, giving sly nods to late 90s/early 00s club bangers, geniously embedding and manipulating femme vocal samples into cheeky little hooks. This feels like it needs to be a soundtrack to female-led spy blockbuster.
Dé Saint has quickly grown to be an in demand selector for major events and global giants such as Chanel, Aperol Spritz, Formula One Grand Prix, YouTube Music Festival, Louis Vuitton, Google, Vogue, Rolex, Maserati, Moet & Chandon, Heineken, Red Bull, Sennheiser. An impressive roster of clients that has seen the artist travel all over the world for.
Speaking on what drives her musical career, Dé Saint expresses that it’s the ability to switch and mix in tastes, and not being pigeon-holed as any set artist.
“I’ve always enjoyed the freedom electronic music has given me. To be flexible with my repertoire and gig opportunities. One day I’m playing MONA in Hobart where I can express more of my avant-garde side, then jumping into a club set on disco house heels and rounding off a perfect weekend performing on a festival stage powering progressive tech with afro beats. I simply love the diversity. This has spilled over to my writing. Don't label me cos I'm not an artist who is set in one particular genre, I like to mix it up as you will hear in my coming releases but the one common thread that ties my music together is, you will always want to dance ”
Now locally, tying in with the recent success of ‘Girl DJ’, you’ll be able to catch Dé Saint’s dance-floor pumpin’ set at this year’s Caloundra Music Festival, appearing on the Friday, September 30th.
‘Girl DJ’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
