Dead Letter Circus are back with fire in the belly, and a brand new self-titled album. Touring the Dead Letter Circus release, DLC made their much-awaited return to the Sunshine Coast to play Solbar on December 7th, bringing along with them Melbourne’s Circles (who were fresh off the back of a European tour), and Brisbane’s Aerials. Photographer Cynthia Lee was there to capture all the rock, roll, sweat, and singing…
Read MoreIt was basses all loaded at Solbar for this event, which saw Brisbane’s Osaka Punch, team up with Melbourne’s The Omnific, and locals, Muules for a big dirty night of sweat-drenched prog/djent/alt rock. Three bands, four basses, one guitar. We sent Cynthia Lee in, prepared in dark pants (so many basses, you’d never know when the brown note might appear), to capture the night in all its glory.

We’re not sure how Solbar’s roof is still on after the rock’n’roll onslaught from Brisbane’s (and frequent visitors to the Sunshine Coast), Port Royal rocked up at storm while on their Love Passion Satisfaction Tour.
Teaming up with newly-Brisbane-ised Machine Machine, and locals Fight Ibis and The Unknowns, it was a sweat-drenched good-time mess, and photographer Cynthia Lee was to capture it all.
Hot off the run of Bigsound showcases, Brisbane's Walken headed back to Solbar for a headline show, bringing along Big Whoops (fresh off a short hiatus, with a revised line-up), and Sunny Coast trio, Muules, for a big night of alt-rock goodness.
Read MoreIconic Brisbane trio, Regurgitator wrapped up their well-received national tour with a bang at Solbar on August 26th. Fellow Brisbanites, The Stress of Leisure were there to open the night in all their weird, kooky glory. Unsurprisingly, the crowd was full of Gen X'ers getting absolutely loose, and frankly, loosing their shit (in a good way) when the 'Gurge took to the stage. A solid set, which did lean heavily on tracks from the ARIA-award winning 'Unit', but also some epic new tunes, and a scattering from the rest of their, frankly, quite hefty catalogue.
Read MoreAustralian lords of technical death metal, Thy Art is Murder kicked off their The Death Dealers Australian Tour with massive force at Solbar on Thursday night. Supported by Alpha Wolf, Antagonist A.D., and Xile, the heavy is real, and we sent photographer Cynthia Lee to capture the night in photos.
Easily one of Australia's most unique voices, Katy Steele (of Little Birdy) stopped by The Bison Bar in Nambour as part of her national Solo Acoustic Tour.
Read MoreJeff Martin is no stranger to the Sunshine Coast. The award-winning frontman for iconic Canadian trio, The Tea Party has played shows on the Coast on his solo tours for a few years now (plus The Point's first live experience with The Tea Party was at the Nambour RSL - which they played twice!).
The charismatic rocker brought his solo show to the Imperial Hotel Eumundi, as part of his The Stars in the Sands tour on July 26th, along with support Mitch King. We sent photographer Cynthia Lee to capture the night (and reported back with how much she loved the show, and went straight to her 90s playlists...)
Looking more like a mini-festival with this line-up, we sent Cynthia Lee to capture some of the buzziest bands of the moment at Solbar, when Sydney's Rackett decided to swing through on their Space Cadet Tour.
