CIVIC Regional Australian Tour at Solbar with Radium Dolls, August 18 2023

Melbourne/Naarm punks, CIVIC just wrapped up their Regional Tour, blowing the roof of venues as they go, before they take off to the US in support of their latest album, ‘Taken by Force’. They hit Solbar on August 18 with a vengeance, bringing along Brisbane/Meanjin legends Radium Dolls, as well as local scallywag punks, Citizen Rat. DZ Deathrays aren’t even halfway through their massive R.I.F.F. Australian Tour, but they playing like every show is their last. 8 shows in, they stopped at Solbar for their Sunshine Coast leg, along with Press Club and Dust, making for one hot August night. Valhalore, The Lost Knights, GRMLN at Solbar, April 30, 2021

Brisbane legends of epic folk metal, Valhalore - known for their immense sounds and live shows, have stripped it all back for their Intimate and Acoustic tour.

After a hectic rescheduling due to the last snap lockdown in Brisbane in the beginning of April, the stars aligned, and Valhalore made their way to Solbar on April 30 for an intimate performance. Joining them on the night were The Lost Knights, and GRMLN.

Big Whoops, WHARVES, Walken, Muules, Zebrafinch at Solbar, August 31

Oh my. So much sweat, hair and goddamn rocknroll in one big night that saw 5 bands crammed onto a line-up at Solbar. Celebrating Big Whoops’ debut EP release (and drummer Rangi’s birthday), the stage was drenched on a cold August night. Supported by Byron Bay’s WHARVES (having just released a single, ‘Blame’), Brisbane’s Walken, and locals Muules and Zebrafinch, we sent photographer Cynthia Lee to capture all the sweaty, hairy gloriousness.

Regurgitator & The Stress of Leisure at Solbar, August 26th

Iconic Brisbane trio, Regurgitator wrapped up their well-received national tour with a bang at Solbar on August 26th.  Fellow Brisbanites, The Stress of Leisure were there to open the night in all their weird, kooky glory. Unsurprisingly, the crowd was full of Gen X'ers getting absolutely loose, and frankly, loosing their shit (in a good way) when the 'Gurge took to the stage. A solid set, which did lean heavily on tracks from the ARIA-award winning 'Unit', but also some epic new tunes, and a scattering from the rest of their, frankly, quite hefty catalogue.
