Sydney-based Alt/Rock newcomers The Opinion Industry have followed up their powerful debut single ‘OPINIONS’ with their second single and music video called ‘THEY’RE RECORDING THIS’.

At its core, THEY’RE RECORDING THIS is a punk anthem that borrows elements of metal and rock to ‘shout back’ at ‘the system’.

There’s a lot of System of a Down, and Faith No More bleeding in through this track, with rapid-fire vocals (with a forceful, shouted chorus), energetic, punk-rock riffing, slamming drums and interwoven samples. It’s blistering and straight to the point.

“THEY’RE RECORDING THIS is about the abrasive overreach of ‘BIG TECH’ and a complete removal of our individual right to privacy. Social Media companies, Governments, Google – all appear to have steamrolled any ethical standards they claim to have and use their customers as a commodity – the ripples of which are changing how society lives now and in the future.” The Opinion Industry effortlessly blend elements of heavy genres to create their diverse and commanding sound. The band is also making waves overseas with Satchel from Steel Panther, Mark McGrath from Sugar Ray and Matty Mullins from Memphis May Fire all giving high praise for The Opinion Industry.

“Everything about it is fucking great. Your voice is great. The band is fucking great. You guys are all playing great. The riffs are great, the songwriting is great. You just became my new favourite band” – Satchel of Steel Panther

“I mean killer riffs, I’m without words because this is kicking so much ass. This is what we were trying to do on our first record in the mid-90’s but we weren’t this talented.” – Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray

‘It’s awesome man, I love it. I think your voice is killer and very dynamic and it’s impressive. People are gonna be really stoked on this song and dig it.’ – Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire

The boys recently teamed up with producer Mitta Norath at Tommirock Studios to record their debut EP, which is set for release later in 2021.
