Brisbane’s dark and moody garage blues rockers The Blackwater Fever release their new single ‘The Highway’.

Inspired by Cormac McCarthy’s post-apocalyptic novel The Road. ‘The Highway’ is a mean and searing journey rife with terror and peril.

It’s a dark, dirty, swampy track with an ominous bass line, thumping drums, a sinister guitar riff, and bluesy vocals that, put together, make for a chilling, mysterious almost-Lynchian soundtrack for that night-time drive.

“We scattered our thorns now run barefoot. There’s an ill wind blowing that blows no good. Out on the highway, will the good in us overcome?”

With over 80,000 monthly listeners + 13 million streams on Spotify, TBWF trio have found a worldwide cult following with 5 albums to date.

The band have enjoyed shows with The Black Keys and Tame Impala, plus their recent inclusion on Showtime TV series ‘Shameless’ and ABC’s ‘Mystery Road’.

Catch The Blackwater Fever launching ‘The Highway’ at Vinnie’s Dive (Gold Coast) on August 29, and at Lefty’s Music Hall (Brisbane) on September 5th.

‘The Highway’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
