Spring is upon us and in these times of despair Aspy Jones has delivered exactly what is needed to welcome the spring sunshine. ‘Fast Lane’ is an infectious and super-hooky feel good song which will have you tapping your steering wheel as you head to wherever you are heading.

Where previous single, ‘Mind Arrest’ was an alt/bluesy belter, ‘Fast Lane’ takes the foot off the accelerator a touch, and slides in to cruise control with a pop/roots track, complete with a catchy post-chorus hook that is a complete earworm.

The track was recorded with ARIA award winning producer Paulie Bromley (George, Bobby Alu, Ziggy Alberts) and Steve Summers at Yama Nui studios on the Sunshine Coast.

‘Fast Lane’ highlights the difference between people that move through life with speed accomplishing as much as possible and those that prefer to move slower and savour every minute. It comes hot on the heels of his previous single ‘Mind Arrest’ which dealt with anxiety and overthinking as a teenager. It reached the semi-finals of the Listen Up Song Writing Competition which will be held in September 21.

Aspy has been writing since age 16, his very first song titled “I hate my job”actually got him fired after he repeatedly sang it at work until the boss took notice. At 23 he has continued to grow as a songwriter and have his messages heard loud and clear albeit not to get fired these days but to inspire other artists who have disabilities and mental health issues to push themselves and realise their dreams whilst having a tremendous amount of fun doing so. Aspy was diagnosed with aspergers at age 8 and also deals with short term memory loss, anxiety and focus. Aspy is an advocate for more artists with disability within the music industry
