PREMIERE - The Justus Trio take off with authentic rock n roll self-titled EP

Sunshine Coast’s The Justus Trio take flight on their latest self-titled EP, which takes off today.

The Tasmanian-born (and US raised) John Justus explores heartbreak, self-doubt, existentialism and grit on this collection of tracks, with the new band, consisting of Bailey Walker on drums, and Caleb Reno on bass, delivering a solid foundation.

Written between the end of 2020, and the beginning of 2023, the autobiographical tracks broadcast a determination to find meaning in this POST post-modern world, and despite the heaviness that accompanies life in 2024, keep moving forward.

The Justus Trio transfer John Justus’ singer-songwriter tones into the realm of 70s stadium-rock influenced tones and early 2000s post rock stylings with this anthology of 6 tracks. Passionate, truthful vocal delivery, mixed with a no frills production of guitars, bass and drums for full authenticity throughout the whole self-titled EP, with stand-out tracks, ‘All In Good Time’ and ‘Peace and Love (And Rugged Determination) giving hints of The Gaslight Anthem. It’s feel-good singer-songwriter rock n roll from the heart.

Combining the trio’s live sound the band is known for, and slick studio production, The Justus Trio EP expands on John’s prior acoustic offerings, mixing in Caleb’s effortless bass lines that help drive the songs and provide countermelodies, and Bailey’s drumming that gives a rare energy to the whole project, keeping the songs tight and with plenty of pace.

The Justus Trio will celebrate the release of their Self-Titled EP at The Presynct in Nambour on July 20th, accompanied by local legends ChamberLane and Will Clift. Limited tickets on sale now at Humanitix.com.
