Sunshine Coast Indie Dream-pop BFFs, Betty Taylor return, hot on the heels of recent single, ‘Can’t Get Enough’ with a stadium-ready indie-rock anthem, ‘Young Dumb Immature’.

This is a track for those who are unapologetically themselves, harnessing signature chorus harmonies and dreamy guitar that Betty Taylor fans adore and long for from this four-piece.

‘Young Dumb Immature’ follows the success of their co-write with Aidan Hogg (known recently for his co/write and production with G-Flip) on ‘Can't Get Enough,’ which saw them reach top 20 most played at Triple J. Aidan has worked on every release to date and is very much a part of the Betty Taylor sound when it comes to stepping into a studio.

‘Young Dumb Immature’ sees Betty Taylor shift into the more grandiose, ethereal realm of indie rock, utilising a soaring chorus to its full potential, lifted by delay-rich lead and synths to take the track to the stratosphere. The four-piece have already demonstrated ability to craft alluring 70s-toned stadium rock anthems with the earlier releases ‘Stallin’, ‘Glitter’, and more recently ‘Can’t Get Enough’, but ‘Young Dumb Immature’ is next level Betty Taylor. This is a huge track.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind ‘Young Dumb Immature,’ Sophie shares, ‘This song was written from personal experience, a direct message to someone I couldn't confront face-to-face. It's about embracing who I am and standing up for myself and my friends, despite negative judgments.’ Written with a blend of sass and love, ‘Young Dumb Immature’ channels frustration into triumph, resonating with listeners on a deeply personal level.

‘Stallin,’ Betty Taylor's first single released late 2022, made waves on triple J and has since amassed close to half a million streams. With an impressive lineup of tours alongside acclaimed acts like girl in red,Teenage Dads, Beddy Rays, The Rubens, and Boy and Bear, as well as memorable performances at festivals including Groovin The Moo and NYE on the Hill, Betty Taylor continues to leave an indelible mark on the music scene.

Looking ahead, the second half of 2024 promises major headline and support tours across Australia, along with a UK/EU/IRE tour with The Grogans and a stop in the US before the summer festival season in Australia.

There’s no stopping Betty Taylor. Go stream ‘Young Dumb Immature’ now on any digital streaming platform.
