Reckless Coast stoke the fires of rock n roll with debut EP, 'Naked & Famous'
Meanjin/Brisbane’s saviours of rock and roll, Reckless Coast, fresh off the success of recent single, ‘Burn Street’, have unleashed their energising debut EP, ‘Naked & Famous’.
Produced by Cody McWaters (The Chats, King Stingray), the five-track release encapsulates the authentic raw energy and infectious melodies that have quickly become synonymous with the band's sound.
Reckless Coast stoke the fires of rock n roll with ‘Naked & Famous’, ensuring every fuzzy, crunchy guitar note is felt, every beat is a gut punch, and the bass rumble making you uneasy on your feet. No big moment is wasted on this EP, from the blistering ‘Bad Habits’ and Fooey’s inspired ‘Runnin’, to the rock balladry of ‘Dying Town’ and nostalgia-driven ‘Burn Street’, and EP-closer (and face-melter) ‘People Piss Me Off’. Reckless Coast further prove the old adage ‘rock n roll is dead’ completely wrong with the ‘Naked & Famous’ EP - rock doesn’t die, it just respawns and fills the underground until it bursts back when we need it most, which could be argued is right now.
The new EP brings together previous singles, ‘Burn Street’ and ‘Bad Habits’, and adds in three brand new tracks that range from the fiercely optimistic ‘Runnin’, to the more solemn ‘Dying Town, and the blistering ‘People Piss Me Off’.
The trio speak on what the debut EP means to them.
"Naked & Famous is the perfect representation of what we are as a band. It's an authentic and unapologetic take on rock that unites both retro and indie-rock lovers. Each track has a personality of its own to create a diverse, yet sonically cohesive work.
For so long now the rock genre has been diluted with worn-out clichéd approaches both sonically and visually. Naked & Famous proves that it can be done differently"
The band is currently embarked on a coinciding tour of the east coast of Australia, with shows in Meanjin/Brisbane, Eora/Sydney, Mulubinba/Newcastle, Yugambeh/Gold Coast and Naarm/Melbourne. The band have recently supported bands such as The Delta Riggs, Press Club and were the sole support for The Southern River Band over all their QLD ‘Stan Qualen’ tour dates. Their first major partnership with Brick Lane Brewing also continues for the ‘Naked & Famous’ tour.
‘Naked & Famous’, the EP, is out now on all streaming platforms.
