PREMIERE - King River Rising are here to 'Tell It To Ya Right' with feel good reggae party single
Melbourne’s King River Rising return to ‘Tell It To Ya Right’ with their ultimate beach party feel good reggae track, which is premiering right now on The Point ahead of its November 8th release.
Serving as a swan song for the band, expect to find fun grooves, boastful lyrics and a sneaky marimba solo tucked in for good measure.
Steeped in party reggae vibes, ‘Tell It To Ya Right’ is a perfectly-paced roots groove from King River Rising, utilising reggae tropes to the utmost effect, from the horn stabs, nods to Jamaica, subtle pauses in the beats, guitar skanks and rounded flowing bass. The Melbourne reggae lads have adopted the coastal reggae tones more associated with SE Qld and Northern Rivers (NSW) acts and proven themselves worthy. Think a healthy balance of Fat Picnic, Bearfoot and the Jessie Morris Band, and you’d be on the right track. ‘Tell It To Ya Right’ isn’t a party starter, it’s the whole damn soundtrack to a damn good time.
Built on the back of years of hard work, exhilarating highs and near comical lows, King River Rising have poured their blood, sweat and tears into creating a loyal following in Melbourne and the east coast of Australia. It’s through these times that King River Rising have enriched themselves with memories that Tell It To Ya Right perfectly encapsulates; the story of how King River Rising came to be and the good feeling that they want to leave on their listeners.
“Tell it ya right perfectly captures our more playful sound. I just really love the positive energies from the track!” - Jake Underwood
Band stalwarts Ward Hancock, Jake Underwood, Miguel Hutton, Thom Swain and Sam Hesketh are joined by exciting up and comer Tobias Bottrall and the well renowned Kelly O’Donahue on this feel good track.
In what has already been an emphatic closer for the red-hot King River live set for over four years, ‘Tell It To Ya RIght’ is officially being released to the world on November 8.
But you can take it all in here, first, on The Point ahead of its release.
Also catch King River Rising at the Full Moon Dance at Verrierdale Hall (Noosa Hinterland, QLD) on November 16, supporting Tijuana Cartel with Lucid Safari and Andy V. (Find tickets here)
