Kingswood continue to roll out the goods with new single, 'Why Should I Let You Go'

In the midst of an unyielding and record-breaking Australian tour that has seen the band amass together 100+ dates in cities that haven’t seen national touring since the ‘80’s, Kingswood have also brought together their rolling new single ‘Why Should I Let You Go’’. This troubadourian release adds layers of warmth and comfort pulling inspiration from their efforts traversing the wonderful worlds between Nashville and Europe. Traipsing along the highway from town to town, constructing another unforgettable Kingswood performance.

With Alexander Laska and Fergus Linacre’s duetting vocals, ‘Why Should I Let You Go’ adds in beautifully reverberating guitars unveiling a great crescendo contrastingly to first edition ‘Burning Holes’, with rhythm section in tow providing the grand finale. Lyrical themes of solace, resolve and independence float throughout, thus it is only fitting that this reimagined track is released whilst the band are busy doing what they do best, touring every inch of Australia’s landscape.

The well-travelled Kingswood machine churns out yet another gem in ‘Why Should I Let You Go’. The real beauty in this track is how it gradually expands; the closeness of Fergus’ vocals and Alexander’s guitar work unfolds into a wide full band, starry-sky expanse. They’ve channelled 70s open road country rock, merged with the stunning duelling vocals from Fergus and Alexander, and produced a brilliant, sing-along nugget of Kingswood goodness.

Kingswood are undoubtedly returning to the true ethos of a working artist - plying their trade night after night, fuelled by their own sweat, grit and passion.

"Why Should I Let You Go?" was recorded on an impromptu and inspired sojourn in Paris, France where we wanted to capture the progression of the song as it developed across Nashville dive bars and the mountains of Germany, Austria, France, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.” Kingswood

“The original was written in solitude, lamenting over a Nashville skyline but very quickly developed a new life on the road with a refreshed and hopeful energetic lift, echoing the reinvigorated musical take that band naturally fell into as we experienced audiences all over the world. The resounding nature of the chorus, pushing the idea that love has a journey for us all seemed to resonate across all environments and languages.” Kingswood

This announcement sees the band reach 100+ Australian tour dates (with more to come), taking their self-constructed bus ‘Peggy’ on the road to towns that haven’t been reached by nationally touring acts in over 40+ years. Record-breaking numbers for an act that is redefining what it takes to be a “working” musician today. Kingswood’s long-awaited new studio album placed #2 on the ARIA Australian Vinyl & #1 on the ARIA Australian Country Album charts, with it now sitting firmly at #1 on the latter for 8 weeks in a row, beating out mainstays Lee Kernaghan, Morgan Evans, Casey Barnes & Keith Urban for top spot ; Kingswood constantly building on their 50 million+ streams across all platforms.

“The reception we’ve had from the people of Australia and similarly around the world is incredibly humbling. The continued support across all the shows and the appreciation shown for the new album is second to none. To think we’ve been sitting on top of the ARIA Australian Country charts for almost 2 months now is astonishing. Thank you to everyone for their continued and wonderful support”. Kingswood

The ever-evolving story of KINGSWOOD births a new chapter with the release of their long-awaited new studio album, ‘HOME’. Having teased the record in recent months with dynamic singles including ‘Good Whiskey’, ‘Burning Holes’ and ‘One Too Many Times’, KINGSWOOD set it up early that this album would feature the band’s most cohesive and representative material to date. The band spent a large portion of 2022 touring their acclaimed third studio record Juveniles (and it's inspired companion album, Reveries) internationally; completing a 30+ date tour that took KINGSWOOD to crowds in Nashville, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and Czechoslovakia before bringing them home to Melbourne, where they begun their record-breaking ‘Hometowns’ tour.
