RedHook return with radical, politically-charged rap-metal single, 'Off With Your Head', and announce national tour.
Eora/Sydney-based alt-rockers, RedHook are on a hell of a run, and have released their heaviest track yet in ‘Off With Your Head’ - a crushing, politically-charged rap-metal rave monster powered by venomous lyrics that rage against various types of mob-fuelled injustice, from the conservative war on women's bodies to the dark side of cancel culture.
Produced by Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly) and mixed by James Paul Wisner (Underoath, Paramore), ‘Off With Your Head’ will feature on RedHook’s debut album, ‘Postcard From A Living Hell’, which is slated for release on April 21.
RedHook don’t hold back on ‘Off With Your Head’ with Emmy Mack absolutely unleashing with the power of a Red Queen, seething and spitting vitriol at world full of injustice and plain wrong-doings. Even without the absolute mental, electro-metal fusion backing, Emmy could make this track heavy. ‘Off With Your Head’ is a slight departure from the more groove-emo stylings of previous singles, and the rap-metalisms bring to mind the more intense Irish Rap-metallers, One Minute Silence, and Germany’s Guano Apes. ‘Off With Your Head’ is deviously fun, and hectic, while driving home a more serious message.
Singer Emmy Mack explains the inspiration behind the track:
"I wrote the lyrics to 'Off With Your Head' at a time when I was feeling overwhelmed, appalled, and devastated by a number of horrifying injustices going on in the world around me. Over in the US, the overturning of Roe v. Wade robbed women and girls of the fundamental right to make informed decisions about their own bodies, the consequences of which I, along with many others, knew would be deadly and devastating. While in my own backyard, I watched on in horror as cancel culture was weaponised by a sick person with a cruel vendetta to destroy an innocent woman I loved and admired. I felt sick with anger, and powerless to do anything about it, so I poured everything I had into this song."

They also made their celebrated return to Australia's Good Things Festival, becoming the first band ever to grace the lineup twice, going from Eora/Sydney openers in 2018 to national stage 5 headliners in 2022. The band also made their critically acclaimed debuts at Australia's Groovin the Moo and UNIFY Gathering festivals, and two of the biggest heavy music festivals on the planet, Germany's Rock am Ring and Rock im Park; a feat few Australian bands can claim.
