Gold Coast's KOOLZ releases heartfelt and groove-filled RnB debut self-titled EP
Gold Coast artist, KOOLZ kicks in to 2022 with the release of her debut self-titled EP, which follows from the string of groove-filled RnB singles released in 2021.
The five-tack EP blends soul, pop, and RnB with catchy, slick production, allowing KOOLZ’ smooth, powerfully soulful vocal delivery to shine. You can sense KOOLZ smiling on every track as she pours her heart out in to this labour of love.
Elements of Motown sneak in to tracks like ‘Remade’ and ‘Lovelock’, while some cheeky Nile Rodgers guitar-play appear in ‘Coming Up’, all backed by bouncy hip hop/RnB beats and thick bass.
After many years of sitting on the idea of pursuing a solo career, and seeing where it fits amongst the personal gals and love ideals, KOOLZ compiled her musical thoughts and journeys to create these five tracks - giving loving ‘birth’ to her first musical baby in to the world, born from the trials tribulations and tantalising tales of her current life.
“I’m settling into the place I’m in, you know when things just feel right yeah? This EP is all about highlighting and celebrating exactly that,” says KOOLZ.
KOOLZ wants to lead by example through her song on how to talk and treat one another, and in the process, her voice has emerged more as a guiding light on old school kindness and values. KOOLZ also writes about her romantic interest in women, with her lyrics and music coming from the heart, and filled with raw innocence. She’s ok with being transparent with her feelings and does so with confidence and ease.
KOOLZ’ debut EP is filled with summery jams and vibes, and is out on all streaming platforms today.
