Sunshine Coast roots/dub gurus have finally, after a two-year wait, delivered their latest single - the sunny good-times vibe, ‘Nice Up’.

You can practically smell the beach through the sounds emulating from the band, with Bearfoot flaunting their coastal roots/reggae/dub soundtrack with ease.

An ode to brushing off the workday blues, and heading straight to the dance floor, ‘Nice Up’ showcases a steady, almost lazy bass line, coupled with steadfast drums, allowing the bubbling keys and beach-tuned guitars to float over the top. Vocalist Asher Chapman delivers a slight reggae croon, offering for you to ‘dance the night away’.

Of the track, Asher says the chorus came about after a long day at worked, backed up by a three hour acoustic show at his local pub.

“The lyrics are quite literal (as are most of our tunes), talking about the daily grind, and the love of music. ‘Nice Up’ was a latecomer in the process of recording our album, and probably would have never made it past a demo if it was for the keen ears of Lord Tanuki (Paulie B) himself.

Engineered at the legendary Yama Nui Studio on the Sunshine Coast, with long-time collaborator, producer Paulie B, ‘Nice Up’ delivers up what the world needs now - carefree, loved-up roots goodness.

‘Nice Up’ is the next taste to come from the bands’ much-anticipated debut full length album, due in early 2022.
