Sydney's Hedy Blaazer delivers raw, emotional and haunting indie folk single, 'Fluorescent'
Sydney-based Indie Folk singer/songwriter, Hedy Blaazer releases a raw, heavily emotional and sublime new single, ‘Fluorescent’ (along with an accompanying music video).
With honest lyrics, ‘Fluorescent’ is both haunting and heart wrenching, blending Hedy’s distinct vocal delivery, strings, acoustic guitars, and distant, deep percussion. It gives the feeling of a solitary singer, plucking a guitar and pouring their heart out, with only the company of a single lamp post.
Of the track, Hedy says it is about the feeling of alienation from the monotonous nine to five that so many of us live.
“Fluorescent articulates a desperation to feel authentic and to feel alive, and to seize moments that feel like your own in a world where you have very little agency” Hedy said.
Since releasing her first bedroom recording in 2017, Hedy Blaazer has not taken her foot off the gas.
The multitalented songstress has opened for Jose Gonzalez, toured the East Coast multiple times, played a handful of festivals (Dashville Sky Ball, Parramatta Lanes, No Front Fences, Canberra Live Music Festival), and her track 'Elvis Impersonator' was recently named as a finalist in Happy Mag’s ‘Needle in the Hay’ competition.
New single ‘Fluorescent’ is available for download and streaming on all major online stores.
