Brisbane indie-pop darling, WALTA crafts perfect post-club comedown tune in 'Fade Into The Background'.

Brisbane-based indie-pop darling, WALTA continues to pave her way through the music industry with another single that pulls at the heart-strings in ‘Fade Into The Background’. Following on the success of her self-discovery anthem, ‘My Own Voice’, WALTA delivers bittersweet honesty into the feeling of being overlooked and the desperation for recognition.

‘Fade Into The Background’ is sonic candy for the neurospicy. The whole track pulses to the wet kick (and for the sound nerds, the heavily side-chained vocals to the kick throb along with the beat). Like an audio liquorice all-sort, there’s so many tasty layers present lying between the kick and WALTA’s main vocal, from the subtle dripping electronic keys, multiple pads, deep bass, to all the 8bit blips. WALTA makes a bonus subtle vocoded vocal harmony (that softly buzzes into your right ear) sound sweet. While WALTA has pours honesty and deep-seated fears of being a blank face in the crowd, she (and the production team) have crafted a brilliant post-club come down tune.

Of the new single, WALTA (aka Chloe Minogue) explains that writing ‘Fade Into The Background’ for the first time, she felt she had made something that perfectly portrayed her emotions.

“No character or humour to hide behind, just straight story telling from the part of me that feels overlooked and hopelessly seeking recognition and a feeling of success. It's the common feeling of defeat in a world where the struggles seem to be getting heavier,” she said.

“It makes me cry when I listen to it because I feel seen. I lean on it in times I feel alone and it’s like I have a friend who understands me. If you have ever found yourself questioning your purpose in life or struggling to keep your head above water, this song is the warm hug, the hand to hold and the soft pillow ready to catch your tears when you need it most.”

The track was co-written with long-time WALTA collaborate, melrose, who was able to convey sonically, exactly what WALTA wanted to say.

‘Fade Into The Background’ is streaming everywhere from today.
