Seph Cove captures a journey of self-discovery on enriching new EP, 'Moving'

Forever nomadic Australian singer/songwriter, Seph Cove has endured a year of transition, which is captured brilliantly on his latest EP, ‘Moving’, which is out now.

Music, life and his place in the world are not what they once were. Incorporating new pace and an urgency, there is an expanded self- awareness that has been brought to light by this change.

Spanning production, mixing and mastering from Australia to Berlin and the US, Seph is truly a global affair. His previous work has been produced, mixed and mastered by longtime collaborators and friends, Tim Bettinson of Vancouver Sleep Clinic and Luke Jenkins.

On previous EP, the cinematic ‘Unsafe Passage’, Seph Cove (aka Ben Steiner) was journeying through self-discovery and processing hurt, but move forward to now, and witness the ‘Moving’ EP showing a bolder, wiser artist, that is embracing light and change. It’s a change of pace, and the heavy atmospherics have been dialled down a notch, allowing Ben’s sublime vocals to shine over the top of a more organic, but still enriching sonic backdrop. From EP opener, ‘Help Me Forget’, through to the more sensual ‘When You’re Around’, to the hugely uplifting EP highlight ‘Higher Now’, and EP closer, ‘Give Me A Reason’ - which sees Seph Cover channelling his inner Imogen Heap, ‘Moving’ is yet another reminder of an artist that perfectly captures 4 seasons of emotions, and wraps them up in lush, soul-touching performances.

Seph Cove has amassed over 2.5 million streams. Most recent single ‘Higher Now’ had editorial success on Spotify’s New Music Friday AU/NZ, various algorithmic playlists, Triple J play on Home and Hosed and was premiered on Triple J Unearthed.

Debut single ‘Stay’ had editorial success on Spotify’s New Music Friday US, while breakout single ‘Falling’ had editorial success landing on Spotify's New Music Friday AU/NZ. Seph has had further industry support for his latest release, with radio play from triple j’s Roots N’ All.

At ease on the stage, Seph has played a variety of sold-out hometown shows as the headliner and pulled crowds to post-lockdown intimate shows at The Little Poet Bookstore, the Otherside as well as packing out the Fitzroy Workers club in a successful return to Melbourne.

‘Moving’ is another chapter in this brilliant songwriter’s journey, and is ready to check out now via all streaming platforms.
