Two Last Names bring charming Australian indie-emo in new single, 'Yah Yah Yah'

Gippsland (on Gunaikurnai Country) is producing a slab of lo-fi & garage of high calibre, and Two Last Names are one such act, that have delivered a new single in ‘Yah Yah Yah’.

‘Yah Yah Yah’ is thick Ocker emo; it’s suburban Australian punk poetry that has some charming grit. With a simple, yet killer melancholic bass line, a steady beat (with a hell of a snare crack) clever no-frills guitar, and a vocal delivery that is unmistakably Australian, ‘Yah Yah Yah’ gets deeper upon each listen. To steal from the last line, we’ve started giving a fuck and definitely have some love for this blend of Australian punk/emo and indie.

Birthed from jams in an abandoned train carriage in the hills of Gippsland, Two Last Names are some loud, upbeat mates that offer up an unusual mix of musical influences, which often results in a cooked blend of ocker nonsense, emo over-sharing, and unexpected beats that somehow work.

Passionate in supporting women, gender-diverse people, and LGBTQIA+ musicians, Two Last Names bring forth punky/indie storytelling, from a band that proclaims that they physically cannot write a song without getting overexcited and yell-y at the end.
