Gold Coast's Lemaire hands you the aux cord to blast his brand new bop, 'Ford Laser'

It’s time to hand over the aux cord to Gold Coast rapper/singer/songwriter, Lemaire, as he shifts gear in to 2022 with his fat, brand new groove, ‘Ford Laser’.

Starting off like you’re trying to crank up the tune with the sticky volume knob, ‘Ford Laser’ teases with a build, but eases in with Lemaire’s rounded flow and chunky, bouncing bass and beat combo. It doesn’t take long for the infectious, hooky chorus to implant itself, and honestly, won’t be surprised if this becomes a trend on a certain social media platform. It’s a serotonin-boosting bop, that is an ode to a lemon, but leaves anything but a sour-taste in your mouth. That modulation in the last section of the track is the chef’s kiss to an already killer tune.

Breaking down the lyrical side of 'Ford Laser', Lemaire wipes the shine off material possessions and instead celebrates the joy of finding fulfilment in the little things, and of course, the people that you love.

"I have always wondered if owning an expensive car, as opposed to my piece of sh*t Ford Laser, would make me any happier in my day to day life. I feel like the satisfaction associated with buying things (like cars, clothing, phones) is a very short lived, fleeting happiness, and before long they just become standard. I wrote this song to express my content with what I have already: friends, family, time, music and an absolute lemon of a Ford Laser," explains Lemaire.

Accompanying the new single, Lemaire is also treating fans to a contagiously energetic film clip, sure to have viewers boogieing in their seat. Starring his very own scuffed up Ford Laser, the music video pays homage to Lemaire’s beloved lemon in a super-charged ride bouncing along with his band mates.

After turning heads at the start of 2021 with his hit track 'Rocket Ship', clocking almost 1.5m YouTube views, Lemaire has been gearing up throughout the year with a series of irresistible singles. From collaborating with an extensive list of credits, Lemaire has solidified himself in the Australia scene, working alongside the likes of ILLY, Nerve, JK-47, Oscar Dawson (Holy Holy), James Angus (Example, The Veronicas), Tia Gostello and Ali Barter. Rounding off his year of success, Lemaire wowed a sold out crowd with a sizzling live show at his hometown haunt, Miami Marketta, as well as scoring a finalist spot in the 2021 Queensland Music Awards for best Hip Hop/Rap artist. Lemaire is also hitting the road to play a hometown headline show on Friday 25 February, and will be sitting shotgun as he supports Gaudion on the NSW-Muso's East-Coast tour.

An anthem to wound-down windows, sweaty seat belts and carefree contentment, ‘Ford Laser’ is definitely the next feel-good track to whack on the driving playlist. With his foot firm on the pedal, watch out for Lemaire as he accelerates into 2022, speeding towards his soon-to-be-released debut EP.

‘Ford Laser’ is out now on all streaming platforms.
