PREMIERE - Sunshine Coast's Charley BT breathes life back into indie roots on new single, 'Liberty'
Sunshine Coast-based indie roots rocker Charley BT returns, following up on his debut single, ‘Lemon’ with the brand new release, ‘Liberty’ which is premiering on The Point ahead of its November 1st release.
‘Liberty’ breathes life back into the very distinct Australian indie roots sound, with Charley BT utilising breezy grooves with underlying sunny guitar licks. Super-smooth vocals, abundant in hooks, move effortlessly throughout the track, which calls for unity (particularly with the younger generations), and becomes the gateway to the summery sounds expected this season. The cherry on top is that full reggae halftime skank that pulls everything back into a blissful pace.
Speaking of the track, Charley BT explains the meaning behind the latest release:
“Liberty was inspired by no other than the definition itself, to liberate oneself, to take the space to be whatever the fuck you want, but I think it comes at a price these days. It feels as though my generation are happy to live in this disconnected state of a fake reality whilst thinking we are all in pursuit of our dreams, but the fact is we need each other now more than ever.”
Produced by ARIA-award winning producer Troy Brady (Amity Affliction), ‘Liberty’ is a must for fans of Sticky Fingers and Dominic Fike.
The new single follows on from the recently released, intoxicating debut single, ‘Lemon’, which scored a premiere online, as well as airing on well over 100 radio stations.
Charley BT, though a relative new-comer on this scene, is able to deliver shimmering, catchy and compelling music that features his velvety vocals, that also capture a hint of intensity and passion. Put this together with clever pop sensibilities and fretwork, and you have an artist that is a must-watch.
New single ‘Liberty’ is premiering right now on The Point, and will be streaming on all digital platforms from November 1st.
